The One Where Emma went to Louisiana

August 10-12, 2018

Emma's BIG adventure!

As a fun end of the summer treat, Emma was gifted a trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to see her Aunt and family that live there.  She was leaving on a jet plane bright and early on Wednesday morning, and was set to be back on Sunday evening. This was her first solo flight ever, and he first flight out of Stillwater Region Airport!  She flew from Stillwater to Dallas/Ft. Worth - where she had to switch terminals to get on the next flight - then on to Baton Rouge where her Aunt met her.  It was quite the adventure!  She was lucky enough to meet a Stillwater school teacher on her flight, who also had to switch planes in DFW, and she helped Emma navigate the big airport.

Once she got to Louisiana, she spent several days sightseeing, eating, and generally having a good time.  She got to explore Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and everything in between.  While she called me almost everyday, the pictures I found were all on social media - so I stole them to post here!

She had quite the time getting home on Sunday evening, though!  He flight out of BTR was late due to weather.  The equipment wasn't even there yet, so they had to wait for the plane to get there, then turn it for her flight.  She was SO WORRIED she would miss her connection in DFW!  Plus, she had to kill a few hours in the airport!  Finally Texas bound, she thought she would barely have enough time to make the connection.  But, since there was weather everywhere, the DFW-SWO flight was delayed as well!  Ash actually ended up having to wait a bit in the Dallas airport as well.  She finally made it "home" to the Stillwater airport about 2.5 hours late, and got home to her bed in Orlando exhausted!  But with tons of awesome memories.  What a great way to end the summer.

In the meantime back in Oklahoma, Lara was finishing up her last weekend before school started as well.  SHS Football Camp had been in session all week, so she was getting back into the Student Trainer swing of things.  She had a relaxing weekend and was a great care taker for your brother who is on crutches for the next several weeks.

Next week - BACK TO SCHOOL!  Here's to Junior Year!
