The One with the Untimed Down

October 12 - 14, 2018

Friday night started out with Friday Night Lights for Lara in Lawton, OK!  Lawton is the least favorite road trip because it is a LONG drive, plus the facilities leave a little to be desired.  They are always a tough opponent, and it is a LONG day when you leave the high school shortly after lunch and don't get home again until midnight.

This year was a little different though.  That rise home didn't see quite as long with THE HUGE WIN under our belts!  The Stillwater Pioneers left Lawton still undefeated and with a 7-0 records, and a lifetime of memories surrounding the end of the game.  They trailed in scored most of the fame, but were always withing striking distance.  Lawton was up, it was the last drive of the game.  ):57 left on the clock in the fourth.  We drive down the field quickly, and were in the red zone with 4 seconds left on the clock.  Gundy's pass was overthrown, but blatant defensive pass interference occurrence with a Lawton player SHOVED our receiver out the back of the end zone.  Time has expired, but the flag allowed one last "un-timed" down for Stillwater to get in the end zone.  AND. HOW!  Gundy threw an up-and-over lob, and Bland caught in the middle of a pack of 3 defenders and one more on the way.  MUCH CELEBRATION ENSUED!  The 23-20 victory made the ride home much more bearable, and the replays and highlight reals on social media were the talk of the town for DAYS!

In her element

Saturday was spent recovering and doing homework.  Emma spent the weekend in Perkins with Nana and Grandpas.  Finn has also spent the night on Friday night, so Emma drove him back to Stillwater Saturday morning.  It was nice to get to see her - even if just for a split second!  Nothing else exciting happened on Saturday.

Sunday, we had a busy day so we got up early and went to church, then off for an adventure in OKC!  The OSU Men's Basketball Team has an open practice at John Marshall High School, and Jake had his first AET 2025 practice back after his injury.  We had a GREAT time at the open practice and enjoyed pictures and autographs afterwards.  Jake's practice was good, too, but the best part was family dinner at Ted's Escondido on the way home!

Stuck in the middle seat!

Another fun and busy weekend!  I'm sure next week will be much of the same!
