The One with the Comeback

November 16 - 18, 2018

As is the theme for this season in our lives, this one started out with some Friday Night Lights!  This one was going to be BIG!  The Stillwater Pioneers were headed to Owasso to play the Booker T. Washington Hornets in the STATE 6A-II semi-final game.  It was a cold night - but nothing like the week before in Stillwater. And the large Stillwater crowd that traveled up for the game kept us all warm.

The game itself was pretty emotional.  We were down 14-0 in the first quarter, and had to fight hard the whole game - before scoring 3 touchdowns in the last quarter cinched the deal for the Pioneers - and we are headed to the last stop on our ROAD TO STATE!

Golden Hour with these gorgeous ladies!

Saturday was spent in Norman (blech!) at a basketball tournament.  AET 2025 played ball in an old converted airplane hanger right near the University of Oklahoma campus.  Sunday, too.  We actually at lunch at Fuzzy's in Norman on Campus Corner.  This counts as a campus visit for Lara, no?  And by Sunday night's drive home, even though it was only 6pm, it was dark and we were all a little
sleepy!

The One Where it was SO COLD

November 9 - 11, 2018

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS!  STATE PLAYOFFS!  FRIGID TEMPS!

First round of playoff games for our boys, and we got to host them at Pioneer Stadium.  We took on the Muskogee Roughers, and we roughed them up a bit - even with the air temp plunged to 24 by the end of the game and the Real Feel was 20.  It was a COLD, cold night, but we came away with the "W" and the chance to play in the Semi-Finals next week!  These kids are PUMPED! (And Lara's hair was looking sweet the whole game!  Love that red against the black beanie an those royal blue jacket!  Dazzling!)

Pre-Game dinner with her girls @ Eskimo Joe's

Pregame - when it was cold but not miserable
Halftime - we were feeling 22 (The Real Feel temp)
Post-Game; post-frozen
Saturday, Lara stayed home (and warm) while Mom and Dad and Finn went to OKC to watch Jake play basketball.  Emma came over, and the two of them ran around town a bit for the day.  The rest of the day was spent thawing out, warming up, and resting from the day before.

Sunday was also a very lazy day!  Laundry, homework, etc.  We did not go to church due to family scheduling conflicts, a sick brother, and just not making it work.  Dinner, Family Meeting, off to bed, and another week begins!

(We woke up to snow covered ground on Monday morning, and it snowed ALL DAY LONG.  Stayed on the ground Tuesday as well.  Today (Wednesday) is the first day we've gotten above 35 since Friday!  Warming up, the the semi-final game this week in Tulsa will still be pretty cold!)

The One Where They Broke Some Records

TEN AND OH!  10-0!  We are undefeated!  Not since 1976!  First Round Playoff game at HOME!  There is so much to be excited about!

Friday Night Lights DID NOT Disappoint.  we haven;t had a regular football week in a while, and this one left it all out on the field.  It was a tougher game, and lots of excitement.  Especially WHEN WE WON!!!! So now the Stillwater Pioneers are in the playoffs, and host Muskogee Friday night in Stillwater.  The stands should be packed - there is a ton of hype around this coming game!

Here are a few pictures from FNL in Del City:

The rest of the weekend was very relaxed.  Jake had a "date" of sorts at the bowling alley on Saturday afternoon, and Lara was his driver/chaperone. Lara is trying to be brave and do scary things.  So far, its at a stand still...

We went to bed Saturday night and turned back our clocks (at the writing of this on Thursday we have still not adjusted), then early Sunday morning we went to church. Dad took the kids to an OSU Men's Basketball game while Mom did some homework.

We didn't see or hear form Emma this weekend.  Maybe next weekend!

Let's keep working hard and make it to STATE, Pioneers!

The One Where They Fell for Fall

October 25 - 28, 2018

This one is going to be a picture diary.  It was BUSY!  And Momma's tired!  We had lots of fun fall activities going on - most of them somehow related to football.  'Tis the season!  On a side note, these girls are such amazing humans, and they have done a great job of surrounding themselves with AWESOME humans along the way!  We are sure proud of these girls.  16 is treating them so very well.  Keep up the good work, ladies!

Thursday night lights.  We won.  We're 9-0.  Go 'Neers!

Friday night - OSU Homecoming Walkaround.  And Lara babysat Jake and Finn so Mom and Dad could go to Mom's 25th High School Reunion.

Saturday morning: OSU Homecoming Parade.  OSU Beat Texas

Sunday night - KLIFE dance at Rosemary Ridge

WHEW!  And it's already next weekend!
