November 2024

  • "November's sky is chill and drear, November's lead if red and sear." -- Sir Walter Scott
November came and went like a winter storm!  So opposite of the beautiful, serene October.  But is was no less wonderful, no less memorable.  But it went at a breakneck pace!  So many new beginnings, and so many last "firsts" for Jake as a high shool Senior.

We had lots of court time, family time, screen time, and busy time.  The weeks and days were filled with ALL the autumn things, and we are so grateful for all of the opportunities.  Recapping the highlights and detailing some of the memories.  The year is hurtling to the end, and while i am still not ready, I am working to cherish all the things! (And yes - the publish date of December 8 is accurate - it has been a VERY busy start to the basketball season!)

The month started of with the OSU Homecoming celebrations, then a slower week of  dentist appointments, basketball practices, the election, Jake announced his first odder, and pre-season basketball scrimmages.

On to DECEMBER!  Where did 2024 go?!?  This month was busy, and December will start off busy, but then when school gets out we will get a little break.  We are all looking forward to the down time, and more family time!

Not a very productive reading month, but there were some GREAT reads in this list!

**"The Lost Girls of Willowbrook" by Ellen Marie Wiseman (Women of Guthrie Book Club pick)

"Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing" by Matthew Perry - audio book, read by the author, after his recent death.  WOAH!

"Blurred Lines" by Lauren Layne

"Piecing Me Together" by Renee Watson  (Finn was reading this in his 7th  grade literacy class and I joined in)

Hidden Oaks Book club was off due to the holiday and timing.  We are set to meet the first week in December! I didn't actually make it to A Novel Idea's, but I did read the book...

As the blockbuster film “Wicked” captivates audiences across the nation, I am reminded of Halloween 2009, when the girls has just seen the musical stage production. Emma was the enchanting Glinda, Lara our endearing Elphaba, and sweet, 20 month old Jake was the enigmatic Chistery - the flying monkey who served as a loyal companion to the Wicked Witch of the West! #seniorsunday #wicked
