- "Cold and snowy February does seem slow and trying, very. Still, a month made gay by Cupid never could be wholly stupid." -- Louise Bennett Weaver
(Please note - this is being penned on Tuesday, March 18. The first 2 weeks of March were insane - more on that next month...)
February is short and Sweet. Busy , but not as busy as the Spring months quickly approaching! It is a sweet spot between the end of one year and the true meat of a new one. January seems so long, and February runs in to sweeten it. School is in swing and playing its steady rhythm. Summer seems far away, but still out there somewhere. It's a time to slow down, reflect, and live days as they were meant to be in winter. It's still cold, and weather is still unpredictable, but we know spring is just around the corner. We had a good February! Here are some highlights...
We spent a lot of February thinking and talking about... you guessed it! Basketball! Senior night was approaching, and Britt I had the fun, time consuming, painful, exciting task of gathering things to make Jake's senior night table fabulous - and it was! But it started with this one picture:
There were work form home days with my spoiled and lazy coworkers, amazing Oklahoma skies, and all kinds of memories to be made.
And then there was a fabulous field trip with the Sequoyah 7th graders to the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. Finn took some AMAZING picture, and I took some mediocre ones. ;)
There was basketball, I got a moving violation ticket, I did a better job of not forgetting something on my way out the door on early Stillwater travel mornings, and the OSU president abruptly resigned (this is still so weird and shrouded in garbage to me...)
Senior night preparations and invitation went out, I presented at a small conference on our campus, and we drove all over the state - per usual! And since I was printing pictures for Jake's senior night, I refreshed my office collage as well!
AND THEN - IT WAS SENIOR NIGHT!
The Weaver Family Fan Club was in Full Effect!
Post Game pics and celebrations!
It was BALTO Week and Jake got to "sing," Lara and Finn had a Movie Date, we went on a quick and cold trip to Kansas, celebrated a coworkers birthday, and Jake got another offer.
And Other Shenanigans...

Emma and Lara ended up at the same event! And I got a PIC! |
And we ended the month with Regional basketball. Game 1 ended the month. I made graphics for the team and we took the long trip to Tulsa! Ended this month on a high note!
Short month, but a much better reading list! Got more read, and not as many dark topics as last month! We still haven't gotten the Hidden Oaks books club back up too speed yet! And I didn't even try to figure out what the Women of Guthrie were doing. But I got 5 books read!
"Say No More" by Caroline Overington
"Love at First Book" by Jenn McKinlay
"People Pleaser" by Jinger Duggar Vuolo
"The Medicine Woman of Galvenston" by Amanda Skenandore
"There's Always This Year: On Basketball and Ascension" by Hanif Abdurraqib
-- this was BY FAR my favorite this month!
