- "Decembers are for dreaming of all the things to come... You're at the end, but what lies next is all that you will be. So close your eyes and wait for dawn. The future's yours, you'll see. -- Ellis Nightingale
December, the best end and a nod to the newest beginning! We had a great December, ending it with a simple Christmas and those coveted lazy days at home while school is out and the University is closed. But the rest of the month was filled with basketball, school events, work, and holiday preparations!
There was a lot of reminiscing happening this month. That tends to happen when we pull out all the Christmas decorations. There was also a lot of looking forward. Jake and Finn are both adding new/different classes to their school schedule next semester. Jake finished his first 2 courses at OSU, and did really well. I finished up teaching my first course, and also had some other work wins, including a much anticipated promotion. And of course, there was BASKETBALL! We had a GREAT month overall, and looking forward to starting 2025 with a BANG!

Senior Season Started!
The program arrived!
There were first games!
I helped the ENHB Booster Club organize a Pantry Drive for the high school
Then, while all of this celebration was happening with basketball, I also had the very busiest week of my semester! I finished instruction of my first course (and begged my students to complete the instructor survey), the OSU Grounds Crew hosted a leaf pile jump, I received a finalist award for the 2024 OSU Distinguished Service Awards, and I GOT A PROMOTION! As of December 1, I am now the Assistant Director of University CRM Systems - Student Success Slate. It is a dream! I have the best boss and the best team, and I am loving my new role - as everyone gets adjusted from me being a co-worker to a supervisor! ;)
And then in true weaver style, the second week started with 2 events on the SAME NIGHT! Luckily they were in the same building, albeit on complete opposite sides! Finn had his winter concert - it was the cutest little musical with all different kinds of Christmas music and adorable interludes with students speaking and describing the songs as if they were picked from a Juke Box. Then, we all traversed across campus to see, you guessed it, BASKETBALL!
For the next Basketball game, Jake was in the pep assembly and his name was the #1 answer in the Family Feud style game and the question was "Who is the GOAT at Basketball?" Then, we beat Memorial; Jake almost needed stitches.

A fun trip to Tulsa for Christmas shopping, and BASKETBALL
Christmas Eve was fun and I got a few pics, then on Christmas, the only picture I took is of Finn and my parents new pug puppy, Marcy.

New Year's Eve, Mom and Dad got a little alone time as Finn was at a sleepover in Stillwater and Jake was at a party with friends in Edmond.
And then, just like that, it was 2025! Graduation year. So much will happen in 2025. I sure hope the good fortune and fun of 2024 is repeated, and even intensified!
It was a good reading month, but book clubs were non existent, I missed one completely and the other got moved twice, then postponed to JANUARY! LOL. December is hard...
