April 2025

  • "Winter's done, and April's in the skies. Earth, look up with laughter in your eyes!" -- Charles G.D. Roberts
  • (Please note - this is being penned on Friday, May 16. May was almost as insane as March and April!!!! Graduation is in just a few hours...)

Luckily, April was not as traumatic as March. But still busy and all consuming in its own ways! Looking back, there are a couple of days on the calendar that were blank. That's so rare! But of course, those were early in the month, because the closer we get to the end of the school year - both for my work and for the boys - things just ... KEEP HAPPENING! There were some sweet spots, and as always the highlights are to follow. We Marched into April, and April slammed into May. Let's see how it went!

We started the month with a trip to Hillsboro, KS to Tabor college so Jake could be in on some recruiting visits, practice with future Blue Jays, and sign his letter of intent.  He then spent a weekend in Ark City, KS with Emma and Parker.

new gear

Trip to Ark City included Nyx and Murph too!

We also go to spoil our friends who lost their home in the fires in Stillwater earlier this year:

Basketball banquet!  I had the best helper (Finn) with setting up.  It was a GREAT night!

And Mom lost 75 lbs!!!!

Emma and Parker went to one of the 4 Boys From Oklahoma concerts at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, and Lara and her besties went to a Tulip festival!

Mom got a new ride

And then, signing day for Jake and his friends!

Then, Prom-posal...

Finn had Pre-Op; there was a family sing along...

And there was an EPIC Oklahoma Brand collab - Simple Modern and Braum's!

We spent Easter as a family and went to the movies...

I got Lara a coung for her birthday and we had to go to Tulsa in Grandpa's truck to pick it up.  That's a fun memory!  (long night...)

PROM!!!!!

The "Weavers"

After Prom with FINN!!!!! (Minecraft Movie Date!)

Oh, and.... something is brewing....

I love graduation season!

Another BUSY month, but a much better reading list!  Got more read, and I was all over th eplcae - just the way I like it!  I think Hidden Oaks book club has died it's death, and I can never make the Women of Guthrie one, so it's solo reading for now!

"If You Tell: A True Story of Murder, Family Secrets, and the Unbreakable Bond of Sisterhood" by Gregg Olsen

"Love at First Book" by Jenn McKinlay

"Say You'll Remember Me" by Abby Jimenez

"To Love Jason Thorn" by Ella Maise
