"In every change, in every falling lead, there is some pain, some beauty. And that's the way new leaves grow." -- Amit Ray
When we left off at the end of October, we were in Kansas for a basketball tournament, so of course that is where we start November as well. I had quit my job at OSU after 20+ years of working there over 3+ decades. AAAAaaaaaaaaaand we had a new puppy! WHEW! So while the BINGO card is still very empty, things in November were much calmer, much more forward focused. The whole month was pregnant with promise, and should have been ripe with opportunity to rest, relax, and recharge. While I did take some time to do all of those things, I also had job interviews, a puppy to manage, basketball to watch, and evidently not enough time spent reading books and catching up on "my shows." LOL There were still precious memories made, and our first hosted holiday in the new house. It was a good month!
I like the recap format we used last month, so I will continue with that as well. Just the date and the main events, with a few pics that set the scene.
Nov. 1 - Hillsboro, KS
Finished up Day 2 of the basketball tournament and spent another night in Hillsboro.
Nov. 2 - Back home to Jack!
After some twinning and family pics, we headed back to Oklahoma. With a quick DETOYR through Ark City to see Emma and Parker! We were blessed to find the absoluter PERFECT puppy sitter for our little trip. Jack was SPOILED ROTTEN and every well taken care of. I hope he liked her - he is going to see a lot of her this winter! She sent a ton of pics all weekend, too!
Finn *ALMOST* caught up to Emma!

Jack was glad to have us back home!
Nov. 4 - Job Offer!!!
More on that later, but here are some puppy pics from that day...
Nov. 5 - Accepted the job offer!
Again - those details come later, but here are more puppy jacks to keep you entertained...
And these 2 love birds celebrated another MONTH-aversary!
Nov. 7 - Found put exactly what kind of Good Dog Jack was!
As part of the puppy package from our vet, we got a wisdom panel for breed, genetic, and diagnostic health information. He is very healthy with a great long life ahead without ay health concerns. Our favorite part was the breed analysis! LOL!
Nov. 8 - New Job Things
I negotiated a start date of December 1, with the contingency to start sooner shod the need arose for my employer, but now I was in the land of setting up accounts, filling out new hire paperwork, and getting all the proverbial ducks in a row.
Furniture makeover reveal, prepping for our Tabor Basketball tailgate and Jae's team to come to Langston, and new headshots loading...
Nov. 11 - Main Event: Tabor at Langston
We had been waiting for this day, planning for it, and it FINALLY ARRIVED! We were so blessed to have so many friends and family show up and show out. It was just what my heart needed in this time of trials. Even though the Bluejays came up short on the scoreboard, I was SO stinking Happy to see all my PEOPLE in one place. We missed Emma and Parker, but with their work schedules it is darn near impossible to meet on a weekday evening.

We were trying to go to bead when we heard you could see the Aurora Borealis right here in Edmond Oklahoma, so we all headed out with cameras and phones and took a few shots. It was truly amazing!
Nov. 12 - Mom and Finn Date Night
I have a dear friend in Stillwater who is an OKC Thunder Season Ticketholder for her and her son. They can't make 8:30pm tips on a school nights (die t the super late arrival back home), so she offered Finn and I an truly amazing opportunity. Tickets - GREAT seats - EXCELLENT parking close to the arena, AND there was a season ticket holder fan appreciation dinner that we got to go to as well. CORE memories for both of us for sure! Oh - and I made the ThunderVision video board several times and got lots of texts and calls about it! ;)
In the car and on our way!
Dinner event
In our seats - we were SO CLOSE!
There was a "SIX SEVEN" moment.... ;)
We brought home Thunder Stix and a WIN!
Nov. 13 - New Job Loading
I had some packages arrive! The equipment has landed...
Nov. 15 - Back to Hillsboro!
It was a quick one turn turn, but we had the best puppy sitter ever drop-in a few times on the day. ;) While we were in Hillsboro, we picked up a little surprise for Jake! He now has a vehicle again and can quit borrowing his roommate's car. Oh, and there was basketball.
And a GREAT surprise! Cousin Kamela and Warren came over! We were so surprised to see them. Hard to believe they had no kids of grands of their won to keep them busy, so they drove a few hours to watch Jake play ball. It was such a blessing!!!!
Nov. 17 - Jack's second trip to the vet
He is up to almost 13 lbs. Got his rabies shot and all the other requires vaccines. He was told how cute he was and what a good boy he was by the entire staff! And Finn was a great help on this trip as well.
Nov. 18 - Basketball Adventure
We knew that our friends Nadja and Terrance's son's school in Norman, Terra Verde would going to be playing the prep school from Fayetteville Arkansas whose coach was Jake's AAU team (AAO Flight)'s coach. Plus, one of the top ranked players in 2026 who just committed to Missouri was on the The New School team, so it was a MUST go! Unfortunately, Marquis (our friends' son) was ill and didn't play for the Owls that night, but we got to see Aidan Chronister (AC10) and all of Jake's old coaches! It was a double OT win for Coach Stark and The New School Cougars!

Nov. 21-22 - Serious Christmas Decorating has commenced!...
The goal was to have it all done by the time Jake got home for Thanksgiving. Like he would even notice or care, but that's what I wanted to see happen. One of the new trees we had ordered for the living room was "lost in transit" so we had to wait for a replacement - after Jake got home... But we also love technology in 2025 where we can watch both Jake and Avery play just by pressing a few buttons on our remote control! LOVE!
Nov. 22 - Lara's Fender Bender
Only thi girl... Her acr got backed into while it was parked onthestreet. The other car was BRAND NEW from the dealership that night. So she has had some aduilting to do to figreout how ti deal with all od it!
Nov. 22 - Decor Update
The stockings are hung!
Nov. 23 - Random
Emma and her dog Nyx; Finn's shoes don't fit him anymore so I now have 2 more pairs of sneakers.
Nov. 23 - Only the Weavers...
Remember the truck we bought 2 weeks ago? Well, it broke down at 6:00 in the morning about an hour north of our house on Jake's way home for Thanksgiving- he had just dropped 2 of his teammates off at the Wichita airport so they could fly home to family. Dad had to go pick in the pitch dark with severe fog at 6:00 in the morning, Jake and I went back (after everyone had naps and the fog had burned off) that afternoon to get it towed to a repair shop in Perry. with no idea how long it would take and or how much the repairs would cost!
Nov. 24-26 - Family time!
Family lunches, lots of rest and story telling, we got the truck back (so QUICK! And not too scary on the price tag!), and we DCORATED FOR CHRISTMAS! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Nov. 27 - Thanksgiving
Nana and Grandpa came over and we had ALL the food. Jake requested ham - he is not much of a turkey guy/.And we had more deserts than anything! It was a great day - my folks stayed all day. We ate, napped, played games, had desert, napped some more!
And when night fell - we enjoyed the Christmas decor!
Nov. 28 - Friday - Jake goes back to Kansas
Woke up to Jake's (dirty) truck in the driveway. It was cold, but the truck was FIFLTHY from the transmission line explosion as well as the "mudding" he did up in Kansas before he came home, so we took it to a car wash bright (OK - cloudy) and early int he morning. Then a few family pics and he was off! Back to Kansas... to get on a bus and go to Missouri for a game on Saturday.
Nov. 29 - Saturday - Missouri
Dad, Finn and I drove to Joplin, Missouri ("Misery")on a cold, rainy day to watch Tabor play Missouri Southern State. ALL of this was pretty miserable. We took some mediocre touristy pics, watched a painful basketball game, and drive home. All in the cold drizzly cloudy rain. It was not the best. And my dog sitter came to check on Jack throughout the day - which WAS the best! Then I was
reminded it could be worse and I could be watching football in person in Illinois...
Nov. 30 - Sunday
Jake played in another game far away (Central Missouri) today, and Jack had his first puppy class. Finn and Jack BOTH learned so much! Jack was the most well behaved and the teacher's pet. LOL We were glad to be home and warm for sure.... YAY! Fireplace!
Fun with Media Day pics!
Only read 4 books. Pretty sure 3 of those were audio books. I was really looking forward to reading A LOT this month, but things were more chaotic than I anticipated. Still glad I got some pages in!
