October 2026

"October, the extravagant sister, has ordered an immense amount of the most gorgeous forest tapestry for her grand reception." - Oliver Wendell Holmes

Well, if October is the extravagant sister, she certainly showed up at the Weaver house ready to make an entrance! And apparently, she brought ALL her baggage with her! LOL!

October is always one of my favorite months. Birthdays, football, fall colors, cooler weather (FINALLY!), and all the things that make autumn so wonderful. But this year? WHEW! October came in hot and never really slowed down. We celebrated birthdays, battled some illness, juggled work and school schedules, squeezed in a little family fun, and tried to keep up with the usual chaos that comes with six Dream Weavers living in three different states. And, of course, JACK!

Some days were beautiful, some were downright exhausting, and a few left us wondering what in the world could possibly happen next. But that's life, right? A little bit of everything, all woven together into one big, messy, wonderful tapestry. I suppose Mr. Holmes was onto something!

So, without further ado, here's a look at the beautiful, busy, birthday-filled, occasionally bonkers month of October 2026!

October 1-4 - (start of the month!)

High school football, homecoming festivities, and a sleepover.  Jake putting in work,  a quick peek of Emma, new crafts, and Book Club!

And.... JACK!

October 5-11- (Birthday Palooza!)
I finished my UCO shirt, Finn turned 15, I turned another year older, sneak peek of Jake's media day photos, and my friends from New Haven (Slate by Technolutions) came to Edmond to see UCO!  And Finn ended the week with a Choir concert!

THEN we celebrated Finn's birthday with a trip to Stillwater for teh football game - where we all got sunburns and sweated our butts off!  We had a great time with Finn and his friend, and we even got to see Emma and Parker! (Meanwhile, Jake's orange truck hauled the MSSU MBB team through the Joplin homecoming parade!)

And, JACK!  We celebrated one year with him in our house on the 11th!

🐾 Just Jack. One Year with us!

October 12-18- (Fall Break)

FAFSA, October 15 - Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, Birthday Datenighto Flix Brewhouse, and Jake at OU. Finn had a 5 day weekend - I did not! LOL!

There is a special kind of heartbreak in being the mother of a mother who has lost her baby.

And, JACK!

October 19-25 - (Fall Break)
Basketball season loading, my BFF surprise in my office closet, I got super sick at work, missed 2 days of work, went back to work on Friday, Walkaround in Stillwater, then I was in the ER on Saturday.  UGH!  But Finn got another Saturday in Orange Country!

(insert pics of me being sick for 2.5 days here)

Rebounded on Friday - it didn't last

Finn's Game Day Adventures

Emma and Parker's Engagement Pics!

Jake's Media Day Pics!

And, Jack!

These were while he was keeping me company while I was sick.

October 26-31 - (Up to HALLOWEEN!)

I had a very important meeting at work.  LOL

Dad and I got to see Finn and his choir sing at a Choral Musical Festival at UCO!

Woodstock and Snoopy!

Halloween Date Night in Stillwater - because we took Finn to a party.

He went deer hunting and caught himself a girlfriend!

They've known each other for a while...

And, JACK!
