The One with Fall Break and a Sick Teenager

October 19 - 21, 2018

Because we seem to like Thursday night lights in Stillwater, this one starts on a Thursday as well.  Where the Stillwater Pioneers were 7-0 taking on Putnam City West at Pioneer Stadium, hoping to make it 8-0.

Spoiler Alter!  We did it.  And not only did we win, we SHUT THEM OUT!  This Pioneer team is really something special.  It was really cold, and kinda rainy, and this is what your student athletic training team looks like at the start of the game:

The rain held off, and it didn't get any colder when the sun went down, so it was not a terrible weather evening for football.  And the shut out made it QUITE NICE!  But, Lara had been feeling pretty puny all week, and actually called me before the game to ask if we could go to urgent care in the morning...

Poor Sicky Sick

Friday started off at Urgent Care!  Lara was dx'd with a sinus infection, and sent home with antibiotics and a prescription for rest and fluids.  Luckily, it was fall break so this was easy to accomplish.

Friday and Saturday were pretty chill.  Some laundry, a little cleaning, resting, relaxing, maybe some homework thrown in...  A nice break to the hustle and bustle of the first term of school.

By Sunday everyone was feeling better and more rested, so after early morning church, we headed to the Grider Farm Pumpkin patch south of Perkins.  It was a great (wet, muddy) adventure, and a fun time was had by all!

Emma had her own fall break with her family, too!  They went camping and took the horses to the Ouchita Forest and Ouchita Mountain area of Eastern Oklahoma.  She posted these pictures on Social Media, so I snagged them for the blog!

We have another Thursday Night Lights this week, and we are barreling towards Halloween!  What's next?!?
