March 2026

"In March, winter is holding back, and spring is pulling forward. Something holds, and something pulls inside of us, too." -  Jean Hersey

March!  She marched in, and then she marched out.  It was a good month.  Nothing tooooo crazy, the calendar was populous, but not insanely busy.  And the weather was pretty cooperative as well. I found myself thinking more than once this month - how did I do the spring 10 years ago? 5 years ago?  When all four kids were home - ages 14, 14, 9, and 4.  PURE CHAOS - always busy.  Then at 18, 18, 14, and 9. Emma in Orlando, Lara busy with Stillwater athletics, Jake playing all the basketball, and Finn in 3rd grade.  Spring was always crazy in those days - so many school things: testing, assessments, field trips, SPORTS!  Spring break trips and plans and all the busyness.  So this March, was much calmer.  Sweeter.  Maybe not easier, just different.

There were still many memories made!  We had a BIG ONE this month, but of course, all the sweet little moments as well.  Life is life-ing - moving forward.  2 young adults, one baby adult, and a teenager who is adjusting to being an only child (at home).  Mom and Dad are focused on managing their health and wellness, nurturing this silly pup, and keeping Finn motivated and interested in school.  After Spring Break is the downhill slide to summer, and he has to stay focused!

It was a good month.  Everything moving in all the right directions.  Here are the highlights!

Week 1: March 1-7

Started the month with my new favorite: BOOK CLUB! With a St. Patty's theme, of course!

I had a special embroidery project I worked on, and had a little too much help from Jack....

Work from home days, self-motivation days, middle school pick-ups, and Finn and friends shenanigans!

Jake bought tickets to see Zach Bryan in St. Louis, some Cowboy boots on Facebook Marketplace, gathered up some college buddies, and made those precious college memories on a fun trip with the boys!

Week 3: March 15-21 - SPRING BREAK!

It was fun having Jake home for a week.  He had lots of doctor appointments, did all the Door Dashing (with Finn as his co-pilot), and had a good family time!

A cardinal - the same one that was here the day we moved into this house - visited us on the anniversary of Grandma Mary's funeral.  He is perched up on our internet receiver tower!

A beautiful night, card games, and NCAA March Madness in the backyard.
