Dog Days of Summer are here. Camps are done. It's hot and humid. The grass isn't growing - in fact most of it is turning brown. And we just had another weekend of not a whole lot going on!
This week, my cousin, Jane, and her 2 kids Rocco and Faith were here for their annual summer visit to Oklahoma. On Friday night, we got to host them at our house for a few hours. It was nice to catch up, listen to the kids play, and share a dessert. It was a welcome evening!
Saturday morning, Lara took Jake and Finn to the Eskimo Joe's Anniversary Week kids' carnival. hey ran into Jane with Rocco and Faith there as well! She is such a great big sister!
Lara had a late (LATE) night baby sitting gig Saturday night into Sunday, but we all go up early to go to church for At The Movies. The movie this week was Christopher Robin. We had seen that movie in the theaters, so we really enjoyed the service.
I know I spoke to Emma several times over the phone this weekend, but I don't remember all the things we talked about. College, Her truck lost its clutch. Various other things. Overall, a nice summer weekend...
Because this one is about the dog days of summer, it seems appropriate to add a picture of our sweet Everest Pearl (Evie):
We are 4 weeks from school starting. It's getting close!
