They One Where They Were Admitted

February 21-23, 2020

Friday didn't go exactly as we had originally planned, and on Thursday the exact layout of the day changed a dozen times, but it turned out to be the BEST day!  Earlier in the semester, both girls had registered for Admitted Student Days at Oklahoma State.  Lara had canceled because she was traveling with he wrestling team to district contests, and Emma was about to cancel on Thursday because her basketball team had made it to regionals.  I think I called and/or emailed Admissions 5-6 times asking to change or update or cancel parts or all of each girls registration.  In the end, we did have to cancel one appointment Emma had made after she decided to skip out on basketball to come to the college day.  And Lara ended up not traveling for wrestling so that meat I got to spend ALL DAY with them!

We learned so much, saw so much, had a fun lunch at Fuzzy's, toured the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority house, and got a lot of swag along the way.  Here are some pictures of our adventures:

We always enjoy having Emma at the house, but I think Finn enjoys it most of all.  Here is a picture of him telling the girls good night on Thursday night.

Saturday, everyone recovered from Friday.  There was some homework, some naps, a little bit Netflix, and all the other usual activities.  Lara had a baseball game to work, and Finn had an early morning basketball game.  Lara, Emma, and Jake came to Finn's game together - that's so weird.  But so fun!  Lara had to leave at halftime, but we were all there to cheer Finn on for a while! 

Sunday morning we got up early and went to 8:30 services at Life.Church.  Everyone had something going on later in the day, so we went early to make sure we didn't miss it.  Lara was supposed to go to a baseball game with Erika, but they ended up not going.  Emma went on a lunch date with a friend.  Then the rest of the afternoon and evening was pretty relaxed.  TV, phones, and family time.  Emma stayed Sunday night, too!  She was with u for 4 nights - that hasn't happened in a LONG time!

Here's to another week of the 2020 Project!  I can't believe we are so close to being dome with this!  LOTS of things to pack into the next 12 weeks...

Finn's Fans 2013 shirts will be...

I know you are DYING to know what color theme the shirts are going to be.  And, I know you're DESPERATE to know who won the fun prize.  (Almost as much as our kids want to know WHERE we are going on our Road Trip, WHAT we are going to be doing and seeing, and most importantly HOW LONG are we going to be in the car - but the have some more waiting to do...)  But you are in luck, the winner is being revealed RIGHT NOW!

I would like to thank all of you for playing along!  It's fun for us to do this, and it's a fun way to keep you all involved in the process.  We truly believe in the Mission of the March of Dimes, and are so incredibly blessed to have been chosen as the Ambassador Family this year for Stillwater.  The votes are all in, they have been tallied and re-tallied, and even though my husband negotiated VETO POWER from the contest marshal (me), it didn't have to be used!

Number 4 and Number 6 would like to bow out graceful with their one vote each...

Number 7 was a real *crowd pleaser,* led the race most of the way, but was TAKEN OUT right at the end of the voting period!  Too bad Number 7...

When the Dream Weavers get back from vacation, we will start the sign up process for purchasing T-shirts!  We are so excited to see everyone in these shirts come September!  We also have a few other fundraising plans up our sleeves!  Maybe another Fuzzy's night, a thirty-one party, and Bunco for Babies!  Keep watching the blog and Facebook to find out more!

Tex-Mex Success!

We just want to take another opportunity to say THANK YOU to all of Finn’s Fans who came out and supported our 2013 Stillwater March for Babies Stillwater KICK-OFF fundraising event for our team at Fuzzy's Taco Shop!  We had a great time seeing all of our friends and family in one place, and of course you can’t beat the food!  It was really a lot of fun – until we hit Toddler Melt-Down mode! LOL!  Poor Finn!  He even fell down the brick steps out on the patio.  Got ANOTHER nice bonk mark on his head from that one!  He’s just to brave (or crazy!) for his own good!  We raised $150 to go toward the March of Dimes and their efforts to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.  THANK YOU for being involved in the mission the Weaver family is so PASSIONATE about!

 

On the home front, it is April again!  That means we are super busy with all the year-end wrap up stuff!  The girls just finished up with State testing (blech!), and we are sure glad that is over!  Emma has started spring volleyball, and it getting ready to tour the Stillwater Elementary schools with her Double-Dutch jump-roping troupe.  Lara is hurling towards dance recital, but has to get through a choir concert and Tri-State competition with her Trio next week first!  Jake has his first official T-ball game next week, but they had a BLAST at their scrimmage last weekend!  He is one heck of a T-ball player!  He is also going on his first official school field trip tomorrow to the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks!  Britt and I will be along to chaperone as well.  Should be a fun (exhausting) day!  And in Finn news, we got him enrolled in 2 mornings a week of pre-school to start in the Fall!  We are so excited to watch how this changes him!  He is walking (running) all over the place, and his stubborn streak is about a mile wide now!  He is infuriatingly cute, I guess.  Has no fear, climbs everything, and wears us all out!  We love it!

And did I mention the Weaver’s are moving?  Just across town, but we are still trying to pack and we start moving in 2 days!  This all seems a bit Deja-vu from last year at this time…  You think we would learn!  We are downsizing a bit, and moving back to our old neighborhood, so it is a good thing.  Just bad timing. LOL!  And that’s not the most exciting thing happening this weekend!  Our nephew, Peter is getting married to the most wonderful young lady I have ever met!  We love Nicole and can’t wait to celebrate their wedding and welcome her to the family!

So, next time I blog, I will be at a new address, have a new family member, and probably be very close to walking in the Oklahoma City March for Babies.  We are 10 days away from the walk, and Finn still needs to raise $50 more for Team Mercy Miracles!  Click the Link on the Right in the banner section to make a difference for babies!

Warm and FUZZY'S!

We are Team Finn's Fans.  The Weavers, Rickers, Jacksons, and lots of extended family and friends.  We are passionate about babies.  We have a special place in our heart for premature babies.  And, we love to work with the March of Dimes for stronger, healthier babies.

Team Finn's Fans is once again gearing up for the Stillwater March for Babies later this year. We wanted to kick start our fundraising efforts before the OSU students leave for the summer, as we want EVERYONE to get on board and get that "Warm and FUZZY" feeling about helping March of Dimes!  They help moms have full-term pregnancies and research the problems that threaten the health of babies.  Who can't stand behind that?!?

Here's how you can get some SUPER YUMMY grub, and jump start Team Finn's Fans fundraising efforts for the March of Dimes!  Next Monday night, April 22, Team Finn's Fans is having a benefit night at Fuzzy's on The Strip!  So easy!  Either print out the flyer posted below or pull it up on your phone when you get there and show it when ordering and 15% of your sale goes to our efforts! And, it lasts most of the evening - from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, so there is plenty of time for you come in for a taco, nachos, burrito, or all of the above!  (If you have not been to Fuzzy's - that is a CRIME!  LOL!  This is a perfect opportunity!  And just like it has for the Weaver's - it WILL become your new addiction!)
