Finn's Fans 2014 Team Shirt Information

Hello Finn's Fans!

It is THAT TIME of year again!  Time to get geared up for the March of Dimes Stillwater March for Babies, and get our team outfitted in the cutest Team Finn's Fan shirts!  Put it on your calendar - September 20th at Theta Pond on the BEAUTIFUL Oklahoma State University campus!  We're a little further along in the process this year than we have been in the past...  2 year ago, we needed help getting a team name, and last year we had you all vote on the color combos.  This year?  Well, time is of the essence!  So, colors have been picked.  Design has been finalized.  All that's left is for you to get on board and order your shirts!

About our T-shirt:

We went with a blue and orange theme this year.  And threw in a bit of our beloved Oklahoma! Blue for the blue Oklahoma skies, and baby boys.  And orange of course for everything happy, joyful, and COWBOY true!

Who needs sleep?

This week has flown by in a whirlwind of school meetings, work commitments, and personal chores, yet it has crawled by at the same time.  Lack of sleep, new routines, and the "second week of school" slump are to blame.  This week, I had a to-do list a mile long for myself and Dream Weaver Prints, as well as projects at work, and errands that never seemed to end!  It's finally Friday, but I still feel like I need 2 more days of "work week" to get it all done!  And it doesn't stop!  New after school activities start the next couple of weeks for everyone...

This week, we've had something ALMOST every night.  Lots of late night dinners, baths, and bedtimes.  Sure messes us up after JUST getting back on track.  I'm not sure when Jake had a shower last...

Tuesday night was Open House for the 6th grade families at the middle school.  We got to meet their elective class teachers, get a presentation from the administration, and then meet with their team teachers.  It was all very educational to me as a first time middle school parent, but it was also a bit overwhelming!  I learned that I have to sign stuff.  A lot.  I'm bad about --  in the hustle and bustle --  I kinda sign things by rote - not really knowing what I am signing.  I think my middle school lesson is to try harder at paying attention to paperwork.  Other than that, the girls are still liking it (even though a schedule change for Emma threw a small wrench in her week), and I think they are going to do very well there!

Wednesday night, activities started back up at our church.  We have SO missed our LifeGroup over the summer!  THRILLED to be back in the fold.  So, that means it was Emma and Lara's first night in Switch - the Youth ministry program.  I didn't have to check them in.  They didn't need name tags.  They just walked into the lobby, all made-up and perfumed again, and starting hanging out with the "big" kids.  So Weird.  And Jake is in Konnect+.  Again, while I did have to get him a name tag, he just took off for class.  No need for mom.  So glad I still had Finn to check into a room!  But, shockingly, he didn't even cry when I handed him off to one of our AWESOME Little LifeKids volunteers.  They are GROWING UP TO FAST!  All of them!  So thankful for LifeChurch and all they do to minister to and grow my kids in Christ!  And, thankful the kids get that, while I get fellowship with my AWESOME LifeGroup!

Thursday, not wanting to feel left out, had to have something, too.  Curriculum night in Jake's first grade class at the elementary school.  I think I may bee too old (or too cynical?) for these.  I was one of the "older" parents in the room, and I felt a lot of deja vu while there.  Haven't I done first grade before?  Like, 5 years ago?  And, some of the "young" parents questions and comments... Well, annoyed me a bit. LOL!  But, I really REALLY like is teacher and I am glad I went to represent our family.  Jake is going to have a great first grade year!

Have I mentioned Finn doesn't get enough to eat on pre-school days?  Yeah, he doesn't.  That makes for kinda cranky evenings.  And 3am HUNGRY wake-up calls.  I have tried to explain that he needs his milk and he NEEDS to eat (all 20 pounds of him!), but I know they are on a schedule and such.  So, Britt, my AMAZING husband, gets up with him at 3am and feeds him.  While watching Daniel Boone on ME TV.  Thankful he lets me try to sleep.  We will get through this, right?

So, the adjustment period is still in full swing.  Next week, dance for Lara and fall volleyball for Emma start.  Closely followed by Flag Football for Jake.  I had the others in gymnastics at this age, so I am contemplating that for Finn as well.  We'll see...

In the meantime, we are 29 days from Stillwater March for Babies.   I am happy to announcer that Team Finn's Fans is a little over 1/2 way to their goal!  T-shirt sales CLOSE NEXT FRIDAY! If you want to order a T-shirt or need more info, be sure and check out THIS POST for all the details.  Also, be watching next week as I start "26 Days for March of Dimes" here on the blog.  In honor of Finn's arrival at 26 weeks gestation, I will be posting each day with facts, stories, and other fun things about or from the March of Dimes for the last 26 days leading up to the March!  Hope you tune in!

We can't decide!

The Six Dream Weavers use the word "Adventure" a lot.  We don't like to sit around.  We go out looking for for things to do.  We take the back roads.  We stop and smell the flowers.  Britt and I often don't tell the kids what it is we are going to do, just that it is an adventure! (Including the Weaver Family Road Trip 2013 that is looming VERY near on the horizon!  The kids have no idea!)  Sometimes they love this, other times, they are exasperated..  Their individual personalities play a role in that as well.  All that to say, we love a good adventure!

We've been enjoying our summer full of adventures - nature camp for the 3 big kids, swim parties and trips to the pool, New Student Orientation on a constant loop for Britt, Vacation Bible School, a little surgery for me, and Nana the Wonder Sitter and I went to Dallas for 5 days for the International Grand Convention of our sorority, Alpha Delta Pi. (I went to the one in Arizona 2 years ago shortly after I found out I was pregnant with Finn...)  Finn has gotten sick a couple of times and ended up at the pulmonoligist, but nothing severe.  And, he had a hearing check up with Hearts for Hearing and is still within normal ranges but hearing more robustly from his left hear than his right.  He is now 21 months old - hard to believe he is 3 months shy of his 2nd birthday!

Which brings us to our next Adventure!  If we are creeping up on Finn's birthday, the Stillwater March of Dimes March for Babies MUST be on the horizon!  Mark your calendars and SAVE THE DATE!  September 28, 2013 at Willard Lawn on the OSU Campus.  Britt and I are working hard with the steering committee to make this a wonderful event, and we were blessed to be chosen as the 2013 Ambassador Family for this event.  Britt even chose our 2 mile route around the beautiful Oklahoma State campus - hitting all the highlights and MUST SEE spots!

And of course, no event is complete without a t-shirt.  That's where YOU come in! HELP US DECIDE!  After about a hundred drafts, we have finally settled on a design.  And we are going to use CustomInk.com to print the youth and adult shirts.  (Still looking for a vendor for the onesie for Finn...)  But, the color combinations are ENDLESS!  We need your input!  (Keep in mind that March of Dimes "official color" is purple.)

Here is a graphic of our 8 favorite color combinations.  Please choose your top 2, and leave a comment ON THIS BLOG and I will keep a running tally.  Voting ends on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 4:00pm CST.  I will post the winning color combo on the Early Adventures of Finn Facebook page and here on the blog.  I will then choose a randomly drawn person who choose the most popular color combo, and I have a fun little March for Babies gift for you!  SO EXCITING!

So, here we go!  Here is the picture, and a description!

Got the T-shirt?

We are 43 days from the walk, and Finn's Fans are at 77% of our fundraising goal.  I am confident we will get there, but if you are still wanting to donate, please click on the March of Dimes march for babies logo on the right side of this page and do so soon so your contribution will count towards our total goal on October 6.  Or, read on to see how you can order a shirt for our team and add your contribution that way!

It is time to finalize our T-shirt order!!!!!

We are ordering our custom Finn's Fans T-shirts from It's a Preemie Thing.  (All images on this post are from their Facebook page.)  They will all have the team name "Finn's Fans" on the front with the trademark preemie footprints indicating Finn's gestational age at birth (26 weeks) and birth weight (1 pound 14 ounces).  The back will say "Finn is proof miracles do happen."  They are all purple shirts, and they have white printing on them.  Available is all sizes - infant, youth, and adult.

The shirts will feature the March of Dimes March for Babies logo on one sleeve, and the It's a Preemie Thing logo on the other, as in the example pictured below:

The shirts vary in price based on size, but we have chosen to set the price at $20.  It's a Preemie Thing donates $2 of each team shirt sold to the national March of Dimes, and we will add any profit from the sale of our local shirts to Finn's Fans totals.

If you would like to show your support for Finn's Fans by purchasing a shirt, please email me with your size and an email to send you a paypal invoice (or arrange other payment).  I will be closing orders at 12noon on Tuesday, August 28, 2012.

So, here's the breakdown:
**Order your Finn's Fans T-shirt
**All sizes - infant, toddler, youth, adult
